Hydro Grip Primer

Use it twice a week at least.

Texture feels good and thick but didn’t work very well on my super dry skin. It did not ‘hydrate’ as the name suggests- would just absorb leaving my skin feeling drier than before. Will be moving to a different brand!

I wanted to love it so bad…

I’m so disappointed in this product. I have tried it several times and really really wanted it to work since it has such great hype. Every time I use this, my makeup pills like crazyyy. Like to the point where anything over it will literally peel off. My foundation is water based, and to make sure that wasn’t the issue I even used it with two other foundations and has the same issue. I have used several different amounts, wondering if I was using too much or too little to the same end. I simply cannot use this if I I don’t want it to look like my skin is peeling off!

Not that hydrating

Not as hydrating as I thought it would be. There are better drugstore ones out there. Including the elf one. I use this under my eyes where it often dries out and creases. This isn’t the worst, but there is better.

Peeling Problem

I've had this product for a while already and every time I've used this primer it would always peel in certain areas, like my temples and my cheek area. This primer does have the grip effect but It's not worth using with the peeling issue

LOVES IT

I have super dry skin, during winter time my skin will flake so much that makeup usually gets patchy or creases. This has helped so much! I love how it leaves my skin so hydrated and prepped for makeup. I definitely recommend to get this if you have dry skin and want a dewy look.

Poor performance because it grips too much

Like others have mentioned, this makes your foundation appear super patchy. It's almost like the thing it's describing it'll do, i.e. "grip", is done too well. There's really no wiggle room - if you apply this primer unevenly (which most likely is the case), the unevenness will show up once you apply foundation on top of it. The only way I've kind of been able to keep using it just so I'm not wasting the product is to use it with a powder foundation. Unfortunately this is not something I'll purchase again.

I think it's okay, but nothing I'll buy again

I've done 10+ full glam looks with this primer under the Armani luminous silk foundation, and I'm still not sure if I'm in love. It is definitely tacky and feels cooling on the skin, but I'm not sure it makes a massive difference in my makeup longevity or skin feeling hydrated. Maybe my skin prep isn't the best (I use vanicream moisturizer under), but it just doesn't seem to be anything special.

it's a sticky primer. what else is to say? works good I don't know I'd buy again though

makes my makeup pill!!!

made my makeup pill (sometimes while I was still blending it out) no matter how i applied it. was very disappointed as i'm newer to makeup and this was my first primer!! not for me :(

I loved the smooth hydrated look it helped give my foundation.

Iffy

Always makes my foundation patchy.. this primer is supposed to be water based but now I'm not sure that's true.
